Perfect wellies

I have never really liked the new trend for fashion wellies. You know the ones I mean... pink with big flowers, or zebra prints, or somesuch.

I have blogged previously on a number of occasions about my wellies (sadly left behind locked in my garden shed in the UK) as my favourite pair of shoes. And its a hard fought competition with a lot of contestants in the rack.

I refer to my wellies as I-could-marry-a-farmer wellies because they are slushy green and do their job without ostentatious fanfare.

But this pair is really rather cool and I believe that they could make my pal Elle edge a little away from her towering stillettos and towards my prefered mode of pedi-transportation. The Jimmy Choo Hunter welly. Pretty fabulous.

Tim Minchin

The boy introduced me to a great comedian and I wanted to show him to you all. So check out these two songs from Tim Minchin. Happy Friday!

The silence...

Please don't think I haven't noticed that things have been a little silent over here on TOE of late. After all, I am usually the one deafening the place with my rants and musings.

However at the moment my life is rather complicated and filled with things I can't say publicly so you lot, darling readers, shall have to wait until all is revealed in the next week or so.

Sorry!

Twitter for business

A couple of months ago I was asked to provide some comment for a training session on Twitter's value for business. This presentation was given in Melbourne this week - I am famous (from slide 59) :)

Boyfriend bonuses

When I was single I thought life was easy. Noone making messes for me to get annoyed about around the flat, you know, stuff like that.

But check this out! Total boyfriend bonus!

Knitting

Last night Erin taught Emma and I how to knit. So, still a beginner, but check this out! I am dead chuffed! You will see my attempts at two different stitches here.

I totally rock.

Except that I started with 8 stitches and after yoyoing up to 9 and back to 8 for a while I suddenly seem to have 10. Oh well!!

Where'd she go?

Sorry for the silence, I have been on a little holiday in the sunshine. Back in work today and to my delight I have been tagged in a meme while I was away by Polly.

So here goes:

What is your current obsession? Um... my feminist blog A Woman's Writes. I am reading Germaine Greer to write a review at the moment, and trying to make feminism relevant for the 21st century.

Coffee or tea? Neither please. Or peppermint tea.

What’s for dinner? Gosh goodness knows! I am heading to a lovely cafe for hot choc and a knitting lesson from Erin with Emma so maybe I will get something there. Otherwise I do have some home made pumpkin soup in the freezer...

What was the last thing you bought? Sushi train for lunch.

What are you listening to right now? A very quiet office.

What is your favorite ice-cream flavor? Mint choc chip. Mmmm.

What is your favorite colour? Red to wear, yellow for flowers.

What is your dream job? Marketing for English Heritage or the History Channel or something like that.

How many times do you press the snooze button before you get up? I don't... I lie there listening to the radio for up to 45 mins! :S

Lost that loving feeling

As humans do we only have the capacity to be excited and enthusiastic about a certain number of things?

Before I met Luke, I had turned into quite the little gym bunny. I had a personal trainer I was seeing once a week and I would go by myself once or twice more, depending on my hectic and fabulous social life. I had even started running and was beginning to be able to do it *at the same time* as breathing, which was a big breakthrough.

Goodness, I even registered in the City2Surf 14km run, like I promised I would.

But recently I haven't been running. Or going to the gym. I even cancelled my personal trainer once - and he knew I was lying when I said I was ill. You see all my enthusiasm has transfered to spending time with Luke. Boys, you see, spoil everything.

The final straw came this week... I am sorry to announce that I will not be partaking in the City2Surf after all. You see I am off on hols next week, and have the parentals in town for the two weeks before the race. If I am not managing to run an inch now, I will never make it round the course.

Its terrible when a hot man tells you he loves your (slightly) squishy belly. Harrumph.
